Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how data is collected, used, and handled in connection with HashClue, including the on-chain protocol and the web interface. By interacting with HashClue, you acknowledge and accept the practices described below.

1. Nature of Data in HashClue

HashClue operates on a public blockchain. Any data submitted to or generated by the on-chain protocol, including wallet addresses, transaction hashes, submitted guesses, timestamps, and associated metadata, is permanently recorded on a public, immutable ledger. This data is not controlled, owned, or erasable by the creator of HashClue or any other party.

2. On-Chain Data

Wallet addresses used to interact with HashClue smart contracts are pseudonymous but publicly visible on the blockchain. All on-chain interactions are transparent and permanently recorded. The creator of HashClue has no ability to modify, delete, or restrict access to on-chain data. You should assume that any information submitted on-chain is public and permanent.

3. Web Interface Data Collection

The web interface may collect minimal operational data in the course of normal operation. This may include:

  • Server logs. IP addresses, request timestamps, user agent strings, and URLs accessed. These are collected automatically by hosting infrastructure.
  • Analytics. Anonymous or pseudonymous usage data such as page views, referral sources, and session duration. No personally identifiable information is intentionally collected through analytics.
  • Wallet addresses. When you connect a wallet to the web interface, your public wallet address is transmitted to the server for the purpose of processing protocol interactions. It is not stored beyond what is required for operational purposes.

No account registration is required. No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers are collected by the web interface. The web interface does not perform identity verification, know-your-customer (KYC), or user profiling, and does not attempt to associate wallet addresses with real-world identities.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The web interface may use cookies or browser local storage for basic functionality such as session state or user preferences. No tracking cookies from third-party advertising networks are used.

5. No Sale of Data

The creator of HashClue does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise provide personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Third-Party Infrastructure

HashClue relies on third-party infrastructure that may independently collect data in accordance with their own policies. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Blockchain networks (e.g., Ethereum and its node operators, validators, and indexers).
  • Hosting providers (e.g., Cloudflare) that process and route web traffic.
  • RPC providers that relay blockchain transactions.
  • Analytics services that process anonymized usage data.

The creator of HashClue is not responsible for the data practices of these third parties. You should review their respective privacy policies independently.

7. Data Retention

Operational data collected through the web interface (such as server logs) is retained only for as long as necessary for operational, diagnostic, or security purposes. No long-term profile or behavioral tracking is performed. On-chain data is retained permanently by the nature of blockchain technology and is outside the control of any party.

8. Data Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect operational data collected through the web interface. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. No guarantee is made regarding the security of any data.

9. User Rights

Where applicable law grants you rights regarding your personal data (such as access, correction, or deletion), you may contact the creator of HashClue to exercise those rights with respect to off-chain data held by the web interface. Note that:

  • On-chain data cannot be modified, deleted, or restricted by any party. Requests concerning on-chain data cannot be fulfilled.
  • Pseudonymous blockchain data may not constitute personal data in all jurisdictions.
  • The ability to fulfill requests depends on the nature and extent of data held.

10. Children

HashClue is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. No data is knowingly collected from minors. If you believe a minor has interacted with HashClue, contact the creator and reasonable steps will be taken to address the concern.

11. International Users

HashClue operates on a global, decentralized blockchain network. Data may be processed in any jurisdiction where infrastructure is located. By interacting with HashClue, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside your own, which may have different data protection standards.

12. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time without prior notice. Continued interaction with HashClue after any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically.

13. Contact

For questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, contact the creator of HashClue through the channels published on the official web interface.
